The third week went just ok. I think I’ve come across the fact that you absolutely need to have 8 hours of sleep to lose weight.

Weight Lost

I lost a total of 3 pounds this week with the greatest difference of 5 pounds. It was disappointing, but like I said, I discovered that 8 hours of sleep is my sweet spot.

Food Eaten

The week’s food diary was complete, but a 2500 per day average was too much to increase the amount of weight lost. I stayed low carb, but I did increase a couple of comfort recipes.

Most of my calories are coming from lunch, but I need to get them into the breakfast category. My idea is that you should eat most of your calories earlier in the morning.

Exercise Completed

It was a perfect week for exercise. Monday through Friday was spent weight lifting and aerobic exercise, while the weekend was walking.

General Thoughts

3 pounds in a week would make most people happy, but I wasn’t satisfied. To summarize I learned three things:

  1. You need 8 hours of sleep.
  2. Calories should be eaten earlier in the day.
  3. Exercise is critical.
